There used to be a World Market near our place and on a lazy afternoon like today - I used to hang out at the food aisle while sipping the free coffee from their corner bar. Unfortunately, it closed six months ago so I have no shopping haven for some time now.
Aside from the italian sauces and basic ingredients (olives, capers, sun dried tomatoes, ham etc), I love their german cakes and panettone so seeing that Batali has a panettone recipe makes me giddy with excitement as this will go perfectly with my spaghetti and meat sauce tonight.
For whatever reason, I just love the orange flavored, cake like ,crumb feel taste that is so similar to a coffee cake without the sweetness. Hmmm..house smells like orange and cake now! I better hide this cake otherwise it won't make it to the dinner table tonight.
